The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is an incredible gaming laptop that excels in both performance and visual quality. Powered by an Intel Core i9 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, this machine delivers lightning-fast processing and exceptional graphics performance, making it perfect for gamers and creators alike.
Stunning OLED Display with Speed to Match
The 16-inch OLED display is a standout feature. The vibrant colors, deep blacks, and QHD resolution are stunning, offering a premium viewing experience. The 240Hz refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth visuals, which is critical for fast-paced gaming and a noticeable advantage in competitive scenarios.
    Compact, Sleek, and Versatile Design
Despite its power, the Zephyrus G16 maintains a slim and lightweight form factor, making it an excellent option for gamers and professionals on the go. The Eclipse Gray finish gives it a clean, modern look that fits both work and play environments.
    Exceptional Performance and Thermals
With 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB SSD, this laptop can handle multitasking, large files, and modern AAA games effortlessly. The cooling system is efficient, ensuring the laptop stays cool even during long gaming sessions or intensive tasks.
    Ideal Pairing with External Monitors
I use this laptop with a 4K monitor that supports 120Hz, and the results are phenomenal. The RTX 4070 GPU handles external display performance seamlessly, providing a superb dual-screen gaming and productivity setup.
    Room for Improvement
While this laptop excels in nearly every aspect, the battery life could be better for such a high-performance machine. It’s manageable but something to consider if you need extended unplugged use. Additionally, while 16GB of RAM is sufficient for most users, professionals working with demanding software might want to consider an upgrade.
    Final Verdict
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 strikes a perfect balance between power, portability, and display quality. Whether you’re gaming, creating, or multitasking, this laptop is more than capable of meeting your needs. Pairing it with the right monitor takes its versatility to the next level. Highly recommended for those who want cutting-edge performance and visuals in a portable package.

This speakers of this laptop are really great. Also I like the feature to be able to adjust the speed of the fans of the laptop depending on what you want to do with the laptop. The OLED display is also fantastic and watching movies and videos on this laptop is a thing of beauty

I needed to buy a gaming laptop as I’ll be moving overseas soon and won’t be bringing my desktop. I was between getting the Asus Zephyrus G16 and the Lenovo LEGION 7i (Intel i9, 4070, 32gb RAM). I had originally bought the Lenovo because I couldn’t find the G16 in-stock. The day after I picked up the Lenovo, my local Best Buy restocked the G16 so I ended up grabbing it as well to compare both computers side by side.
    It wasn’t even close.
To be clear, both laptops are excellent and accel at gaming. However, The G16 had several differences that made it stand out. The G16’s OLED display was a night vs day difference vs the Lenovo’s. The OLED’s vibrant colors made the Lenovo’s 240Hz monitor appear dull (please note the 7i does come which different monitor options, but not an OLED as far as I know). It didn’t stop there. The Lenovo’s speakers were surprisingly thin with very little bass. Even by adjusting the audio settings in Nahimic I was unable to get the sound to the quality I wanted. I felt that my iPhone’s speaker was actually better than the Lenovo’s speakers, which was shocking since the Lenovo has Harmon Kardon speakers. The Lenovo also seemed to absolutely eat through battery. While setting up the Lenovo and performing basic tasks (downloading spotify, steam, etc), I watched the battery life decrease from 100% to 40-45% within an hour or so. I was able to improve this by switching the Lenovo’s battery settings to a battery-saving mode. I’ve been spoiled by my Macbook Air so having a good screen, audio, and decent battery life is important to me.
The G16 was an immediate difference. The audio is punchy, full-bodied, with detailed highs. The audio quality rivals or maybe surpasses my Macbook Air, and is essentially the best laptop audio I’ve ever heard. The aluminum body feels higher quality IMO and the laptop overall feels more premium. The thinness is also very nice. The G16’s touchpad is huge as well and allows for more hand positions during use.
While the Lenovo’s specs are technically better (32gb vs 16gb ram, better i9, etc), the G16’s user experience was the deciding factor for me.
I do have some criticisms for the G16. The fans are more quick to active vs the Lenovo, and being unable to upgrade the 16gb of RAM in the G16 is a big downer. I primarily use the laptop for gaming and entertainment so this should not affect me too much but somebody who needs more RAM would need to purchase the more expense model of this laptop or consider another laptop such as the Lenovo, which has upgradeable RAM. I also felt that the Lenovo has superior key shortcuts, such as the FN key which revealed shortcuts via lighting upon pressing. The Lenovo also had a FN lock option which is missed in the G16.
Overall, the G16 matched my needs and preferences and I ended up returning the Lenovo. I hope this review is helpful for anyone deciding between the two laptops.

I’m really happy with my ASUS Zephyrus ROG G16! The performance is top-notch, the display is sharp and smooth, and it handles games perfectly without overheating. The build quality feels premium, and the keyboard is super comfortable. Great laptop for both gaming and work! Highly recommend!

For how compact, lightweight, and absolutely stunning the OLED screen is, this is MY perfect gaming laptop! Sure there are other 4070s or even some 4080 gaming laptops in this price range (without oled), but I am very happy with my purchase! The laptop is incredibly fast!!!! It turns on in literally seconds, its astonishing.
The gaming performance is perfectly fine for me! I average 100+ fps on gta 5 with everything on ultra. Yes it gets hot but thats expected for so much power in such a compact chassis. I have an rgb $30 amazon cooling pad and that helps a lot! The laptop is just so beautiful and feels very premium. I absolutely cannot stop staring at the OLED screen. I got an absolute steal with open box excellent(thank you best buy!!) so I just cannot be happier!
The customizable slash lighting on the back is just beautiful as well! Its not too flashy but an amazing touch! It would have been nicer to have more ram or the ability to upgrade it myself, but thats not a deal killer for what you get. 9 out of 10 I love this thing!

Unfortunately this laptop suffers from heavy thermal throttling. Gpu thermals run around 84-86c (ambient room temp is 72 Fahrenheit), so the card will never reach full power. Cpu thermals are high 90’s to 100c with turbo fan mode. Armory Crate isn’t too bad, but I also tried G-Helper to see if I could fix the heat issues, but only at a substantial loss to framerate (again, throttling). Fan noise is fine even at higher rpms.
Extremely hot to the touch above the keyboard, even when in “sleep” mode. Fans stay on in sleep?? I recommend using hibernate when closing the lid.
Another big con is that the mouse track pad is way too big and your hand may periodically touch it, effecting your aim while gaming.
16gigs soldered ram is a non-issue. It has a high clock speed and hasn’t had a noticeable effect on performance. (Maybe because it’s not the bottleneck).
    Pros:
-Great screen and color accurate, but I am concerned about longevity due to OLED.
-Wonderful speakers (With a little tuning in Dolby Access) see attached photo for EQ adjustments.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this laptop to anyone, and would return the laptop if I could. It is too expensive for what it has to offer, performance wise.

    Pros:
    – Value. GeForce RTX 4070 are a step above mid-tier hardware and are offered here at a reasonable price compared to other “gaming laptops.”
    – Performance. I’ve been able to play the newest and biggest games all on high / very high settings. I’ve had no issues, and I feel as if the games look and play great.
    – Upgradability. I’ve NOT upgraded my machine as I don’t want to void the warranty.
    – Wifi. I get SIGNIFICANTLY better wireless Internet speeds on this device than the older gaming laptop I replaced. Did not expect that, but was pleasantly surprised.
    – Sounds. Speakers sound good enough. Music through Spotify is crisp and bass gets picked up okay too.
    Cons:
    – Battery life. When casually scrolling the internet or lightly using it can last 8 hours, playing games can affect these numbers amounts by a noticeable difference. Thats common.
    – Startup sound. Is a quick sword noise: okay.
    – Camera. seems ok.
    – Ports. Good enough for me and has everything I needed. However, some people might wish for more options.
    Conclusion:
You should buy the laptop if your looking for a good OLED screen and that handle heavy apps, gaming, entertainment, or for work. I would recommend it to anyone, 5 stars!

To be honest i was expectig less, and for it to overheat a lot, I play AAA games and it doesn’t give in, it is a bit loud, but it is to be expected, the screen and speakers, simply wonderful.
