The product itself is great! So I will rate it 5 stars.
When it comes to connections and lag, I found that physically removing the hdmi cable from the console SIGNIFICANTLY reduces lag and performance. My experience using the backbone at home is an overall 8/10.
I’ve tested at work with AT&T 5G and the performance was on the poor side. I work at a mall and at the time it was the weekend before Christmas so I dont know if the amount of people in one area was the cause for this.
If you’re gonna be connected to a good wifi connection when away from home with good download speeds, then I say you’re good. Although if you’re traveling and plan on using your 5G, I’d think twice before purchasing.
I’d also like to note that $100 is pretty steep for a controller in my opinion that doesn’t have any vibrations at all. The backbone app is not amazing. I only use it to get to my PS5 remote play app.

If anyone is wondering: my download speeds at home vary throughout the day. I get anywhere between 80-150mbps. Upload speeds are roughly 30-80mbps.
I live in a rural area so my options out here aren’t great. Mentioning this in case is it all helpful to folks in my situation.
If you have speeds greater than mine, I’d say your Remote Play experience will be great!

Disclaimer – I’m not a professional on any items like this, I’m you’re average dude who had a Best Buy gift card and used it.
Product feels nice to use, it’s what you’d expect for the price tag. I liked the PlayStation button layout because that’s what I’m used to. It’s all great until you realize that the library for mobile games that are actually enhanced by this device basically consists of just Cod Mobile and maybe Apex. Then suddenly you don’t feel like it’s worth $100 anymore. The subscription that comes with your purchase, the one that wears off in a month to a service that you’ve already paid $100 for, also takes away a chunk of rating that a shortcutted screen recorder button doesn’t earn back. The subscription should have more to offer, give you more time free, or maybe even be free for it to be worth it money. Still cool for what it is, but I personally wouldn’t recommend anybody else get unless they have money to burn and are fairly set on this product.
    My Final Verdict – A 7.5/10
(As a PS, the subscription to the app and the app itself gives you free limited access to some other recurring subscriptions like 3 months discord nitro, which is pretty nice).

Awesome controller. Use it for Xbox, got this version because I like to look more. Feels a little weird because of being used to your regular game controller but you get used to it quickly. Would recommend if you want to play one the go! Or even when someone’s hogging the TV and you wanna play at home

He I had brought this for my son because he is a gamer.this is a great product for those that like to play their PlayStation or even Xbox games on the run.it 1s well worth the money it still works properly no issues at all. I got the one for the iPhone

I had the original Backbone and while the form factor was nice to look at, it felt weird in texture. Time has passed and i decided to take a chance on the new PS Edition (same functionality as the original, so others wont be confused). Im absolutely loving it this time around. I dont know what they did but it feels great even after long sessions. Being able to even remap buttons, and recording on the spot (membership required for that). The ONLY reason I give this review 4 stars instead of 5 is because Backbone ADVERTISES a one year membership of the Backbone+ membership with every purchase. I personally received a 2 week trial, and a friend of mine whom I gifted one to was given a 7 day trial. That is just terrible marketing. I emailed Backbone days ago and still havent gotten a reply either although they also ADVERTISE 24/7 support.

This product is really exceptional for what it is, i have downloaded iGBA and Delta and PPSSPP, it kinda turns your phone into an emulator wizard. As for the product, its aesthetic and clean, the buttons could be little better but the phone clamp is actually the best part you wont feel that its a third party accessory. My recommendation give it a try then make a decision

The Backbone is so good that Razer Kishi (it’s competitor copied their design for their V2). It’s the best mobile controller out to date.
This is for IOS only with a low latency connection via lightning port. Great for iPhone 13-12-11 (up to 6). Hopefully 14 as well but that will depend on design, including lightning port. Not for Android though a version is releasing in November.
This controller turns your iPhone into a Switch (more comfortable to hold IMO). Buttons feel good & clicky. This PS version (white) is identical to the previous version (black) functionality wise but with button updates (PS Instead of
Xbox layout). The clear button coating borrows from the DualSense as well. Lastly, the PS logo replaces Backbone’s logo on the back bar. Basically, this is a PS brand loyalty update.
A couple of tips, to access PS Menu hold down Backbone button for 2 seconds or 1 second to access the Custom Control center. During PS remote play, you can use the iPhone’s Zoom feature to fill out the entire screen (same way Apple Arcade games do). Usefulness will depend on the game.
Last item worth mentioning is the software. If you’re new to Backbone, you’ll love the app as it turns your phone into a mini console! This is likely why Sony partnered with them (PS5-Vita-ish). This used to be free but now requires a yearly subscription, though not needed to use the controller.
Overall, best mobile controller you can buy in 2022 with PS button layout & branding.
