Actual amazing microphoje. It’s extremely clear straight out of the box and only picks up where I want it to. i recommend getting a arm with it but it’s worth it. Especially in great room conditions where the audio can be clean. The photo used is when i first received it.

Pros:
-Excellent sound quality via USB
-Even more excellent sound quality via XLR
-Great sound isolation focusing mainly on your voice
-Comes with windscreen, mini tripod, boom arm/stand mic holder
-quality USB cable that has ferrite on it to eliminate any unwanted audio noise
-They even threw in some quality XLR cables to go with it
Cons:
-Probably the blandest looking mic I own
-the pouch it comes with isn’t exactly durable
-mini tripod has plastic legs
Overall: I wish I tried this mic out before getting my Shure MV7. Although the MV7 is a great mic (it’s my main) you just get the mic, some cables and pamphlet. The Q2U is quite the bargain with everything that you get from it. Dare I say it sounds better than the Samson Q9U! I’ve tinkered with the Q2U via an audio interface and EQ settings in my DAW and OBS and I couldn’t tell the difference between this and my Shure MV7. I think you can tweak mostly any mic to sound similar. Overall, for $70, this is a keeper. Definitely worth using if you are on the road and need a commuter mic.

I got this mic to replace my blue yeti microphone. I’m currently using the usb part of this mic and I’m planning on buying the xlr interface/mixer. I’m really liking this mic it came with the xlr cable and everything for the price. I definitely recommend this even if your using usb.

Honestly, this microphone is absolutely fantastic. I came from gaming headsets and a Blue Snowball. The difference here is staggering. Being a dynamic mic, it does a great job of reducing background noise. After adding noise reduction in OBS it went from great to excellent. The clarity of your voice really shines through. Major upgrade over your standard mic.
Having the option of either USB or XLR with this mic substantially raises the value. Why spend $100+ on a Blue Yeti, when you can buy this mic and a stand for less? It is more durable, requires less tweaking to get the sound you want, and in my opinion sounds better. On top of that, you can use an interface and make it sound even better! The value and upgrade path of this microphone is hard to beat. This is an outstanding microphone for whatever your needs may be.
Not to mention it feels cool talking into an actual mic like you’re a radio host.

Prinarily used on the boom arm with the usb cable. Sound quality is amazing. For some reason my friends when I’m on calls say that I’m really quiet but I’m not sure if it’s the mic or some other issue on my pc.

Are you looking to move away from your headset microphone and get something that makes you sound crisp and better? This mic is the perfect entry way into the world of standalone microphones. Coming with the dual USB/XLR input really helped me get into the field, understand how they work and use the mic with USB and then supplement with the Wave XLR from Elgato, which took the mic to a whole new level with the XLR interface.
The sound of the mic is immediate recognizeable if you have been using a headset mic your whole life. My friends told me even with raw audio sound I sounded like a “YouTuber”, so of course they got hit with the ITS YA BOY real quick.
The mic itself is sturdy, sounds very well for the price range it is in, has great longevity, comes with everything you need in the box.
I will say, if you plan on using this mic, as with almost every standalone mic, invest into a shock mount and a mic arm. Using it on the stand on the desk you are gaming on is not advised.
Overall bang for your buck, you will not find a better sounding mic out of the box than the Samson Q2U. I fully recommend this mic for anyone looking to get into the standalone mic field. I also recommend that you swap to XLR as soon as you can because the Gain adjustments on Windows 10 USB devices are janky at best.
Hope this helps!
I showed my images with a third party mic arm and a shock mount.
