I’m very late to the Last of Us games and just finished the first game and picked this up on sale for $20. I’ve played over 12hr and still not even halfway through the story. Well worth the money in my opinion. Plus you can use the disc to upgrade to the PS5 version for only $10 rather than pay the full $50 price.
Only complaint is the shipping is very poor and the case arrived damaged. I had to go to a store and customer service replaced it for free.

Overall, The Last of Us Part II is a must-play for fans of the original and anyone who appreciates a well-crafted story. It’s a game that will stay with you long after the credits roll, offering a thought-provoking and unforgettable experience. While it may not be for everyone due to its intense and often dark themes, it’s a testament to the power of video games as a storytelling medium.

I’ll keep it short. First of, I think it’s important to play the game all the way through before posting any kind of review. I just finished it last night, and here is my honest opinion:
The game is not nearly as bad as many people claim it to be. There are some very thrilling sequences, and I enjoyed the exploration and combat. The story is fine IMO, but not great. Yes, there are many ways it could be better, but this is what we got, and for what it is, I think it works. However, there was no emotional pay off for me at the end. That, paired with how long the game is, is the reason I just don’t see myself wanting to play it again any time soon, so I went ahead and sold the disk. (there are two discs by the way, I haven’t seen that in a while)
The game is not terrible by any means, I can tell Naughty Dog really tried to make a good game here. It is also not a “masterpiece”, and the best score I can give it is just… Average. I don’t regret playing it, but it also has no place in my game collection at this time. I might pick it up again in few years when it’s like $10, just to keep on the shelf. That’s it. Wait for a sale.

Ok so I know the game is getting A LOT of hate. But you HAVE to ply the game through and understand the decisions characters make in the game. This isn’t a cut and dry game. There’s so many layers. Is the game perfect? No. But it’s an absolute rollercoaster of a ride that no storied game has. The graphics are top notch. Absolutely beautiful game. The encounters are similar to the original but a few more monsters are added. New weapons and abilities etc. It’s a complex story and I hope you enjoy it. I know I did.

Game is phenomenal! I won’t offer spoilers, but the game is awesome naughty dog has surely taken the gameplay, graphics, storyline to an entire new level. I believe its an injustice to call these games because I’d actually be ok living vicariously through watching the storylines unfold while someone else plays (But obviously playing yourself makes you feel even more part of the story). Aside from the game itself.
My only qualm is I wouldn’t recommend pre-order delivery from Best Buy. I’ve waited years for this game and I’m not one who typically buys brand new games upon release (I’m a Black Friday- pre-owned after a couple of months- kind of game purchasing guy; #FinancialResponsibility), but for this game I made an exception.
I had decided to treat myself to a Juneteenth weekend home of all day and night gameplay but also protect myself due to us being in a pandemic so I decided to order the game because the website claimed that I would receive the game exactly on the release date.
Long story short, I didn’t receive the game until a week later and it arrived damaged.
So I enjoy my experiences with Best Buy, I just wouldn’t recommend as a gamer to pre-order from Best Buy anticipating to receive the game on the date the game is released; go ahead and curb-side pick up.
Hope that helps

I waited to play the second part of this game because I don’t want the story to end! The first game was phenomenal when it came out, and I still remember the feelings I felt over a decade ago playing it for the first time to this day. The characters and the story are so great, they made a tv series out of it (which is also phenomenal btw).
This game so far has been an enjoyable experience to play. It’s beautiful and the story is devastating, just like Part I. I have motivation to play as the main character – I am compelled to move forward in the game, and that’s not always something that is easily accomplished from both a narrative and gameplay standpoint.
While I have yet to finish the game, I am excited to see what becomes of the main character and her story. Great so far, and no issues with gameplay. Game arrived within a week of ordering in perfect condition.
9.5/10 – because no game is perfect 🙂

No, this is not the best shooting game. No, is not the best fight game. Is not open world, not the best action, not bla, bla, bla, bla.
The strognest point of this game is the history, and to get inside the game and understand the history and feel it, you need to understand and love the characters first.
I will say this game is much more enjoyable if you play the first one before. To feel what the creators of the game want you to feel. and trust me, you will have your feelings tested here like no other game i played before.
Is a very long game (take me 40 hrs to finish it the first time), lot of different escenarios, sickness passion for the details, the sound efects . . . please play it with headphones: AMAZING. the sound track is precise and smooth, you almost didn’t feel the changes.
This game is DEFINITELY not for everyone, but is also definitely a MASTER PIECE.
My humble point of view . . . .

Played on PS4pro @4k
Graphics 10/10 –
Visuals are mind-blowing, lighting is realistic and superb. Character models are hyper realistic skin has pores and hands have ridges. Character animation is Next generation worthy,
The environment Reacts to you as you move through it. Cover mechanics are great, weapons mechanics are also fantastic. Facial animations are on the border of the uncanny Valley, you can feel the emotion on the characters faces. One of the best looking games I’ve played compared to a 2080ti on PC. Warning- the game is very very graphic. Edged and blunt weapons can dismember, leave openings to help air out innards.
Sound-
Voice overs are truly incredible, the vocals reflect the areas they are in, with appropriate echos, reverb and reflectivity and are completely accurate to the environment your in during gameplay.
Weapon sounds are amazing, the Sounds pack big punch, weapon fire has the right amount oumph behind it and are extremely satisfying to fire. Every sound in the game reacts appropriately to the environment your in.
Ai- The AI of the enemies differs depending on the type your encountering from Human NPCs to Infected, all act and react differently. On the harder difficulties the human AI seems to execute group maneuvers to flush you out and feels very realistic
Game play – The game play is Super Solid and a masterpiece, extremely polished. Controls are tight. Handling weapons is appropriate to the weapon being welding, Especially hand to hand combat. Reminds me of a more realistic God of War style. I actually went out of my way to go Hand to hand during the game. Running, jumping, platforming are all here and extremely well executed. Traversing The game world, figuring minor puzzle mechanics to get to other areas or find hidden secrets and stashes of gear. You can crack every safe in the game with your ear in Lou of finding the combination.
Now..the center of debate and arguing
The Story- The way story is perceived is dependent on the individual playing it. The story isn’t for everyone and it is definitely causing debates and arguments.. Its been very controversial. I perosnaly enjoyed the story. Not everyone will. Play the game for what it is… A continuation that the developer wanted. Just because a story doesn’t end the way you want it doesn’t make it bad. Thier are definitely progressive ideals and LGBT themes but they aren’t forced and fit in the story so perfectly that it just keeps it normal like its no big deal which it isnt. People are threatening the voice actors because the story didn’t play out the way they wanted. Ive been gaming for almost 4 decades. And this story definitely hit me harder then i expected because of how realistic the emotions are displayed on the characters.,The voice overs and interaction. When i was done i needed a few days off from gaming before i picked up the controller for Round 2. If you open your mind and allow yourself to appreciate what the game has to offer you will definitely get your money’s worth.
