best decision ive ever made was buying an ssd external harddrive for my computer! im a very big gamer and my computer ran out of space so i bought this for my games to be downloaded on and its almost like my games run smoother and faster!!! so much storage space and ive never had one issue with it!

Works great for my PS5. You’ll appreciate faster download/upload speeds vs. HDD’s specifically because in order to play PS5 games saved to the external drive, you have to move them back the the PS5. If you catch it on sale, I recommend even more. Great product. Works great, and is overall aesthetically pleasing. You won’t be disappointed.

I use this at my computer to store all of my photos/video/design content created from work. My 8 year old Mac mini has a 1tb SSD and that’s not enough. It runs way faster with only software on it. It can’t all fit anyway. It’s a very fast drive. I had the 1tb before and that was also great. I load straight from the sd card onto this external drive so the data never gets a saved on the external drive. My computer doesn’t have the snazziest new USB ports but still there is a huge difference in data transfer speed compared to other cheaper drives I’ve had. WD drives always seem to last a while too… My backup drive is a 4tb WD HDD and it’s been running on 30 minute time machine intervals for years.

I haven’t owned this SSD external hard drive very long but I can say that, so far, it is by far faster than the conventional external hard drives I have used and it has a serious “all business” exterior look to it that I like. It comes with a stand with it that is very useful. I am well satisfied with this purchase so far (about a month)

Works fine but the guy who helped me at the store was incorrect when he told me that another type of external drive was only compatible with Apple OS but after I returned home and did my own research on the drive in question, which was larger in capacity and had thunder connection, which my Windows PC laptop has, would have worked just fine on my laptop and bieng larger in capacity would have provided more of what an external drive is usually sought to give said user. No big deal though, I’m good with being given incorrect information.

The PS5 is a magical game console. I bought the Digital Edition and couldn’t be happier. I don’t care about discs or playing disc games 10 years from now. But I do care about having space to download games and downloading and deleting games constantly because of running out of room is just not fun. The big problem was I had LOTS of PS4 games and only a few PS5 games so far. I needed a place to store my PS4 games “on my PS5”. The internal storage was much too expensive for a 2TB capacity, so I instead opted for a 2TB external capacity. The WD_Black D30 is adorable and small and I got it for $199.99 on special. When formatted it has 1.84 TB available for games and that’s just fine. 800 GB of PS4 games installed and I have more than that left for more games! Plus with a PS5 update I can also store PS5 games on it. FANTASTIC! The only kicker and it’s a VERY SMALL one is that if I play a PS5 game I have to have it installed internally, but all of my PS4 games play PERFECTLY from the external SSD. No issues at all. I know I still have an internal option to buy more space on with a “blade” SSD, but this requires a super fast spec that has super high prices for much less space. I just needed space to put my PS4 games on my PS5, now that I don’t have a PS4 anymore. This did the trick perfectly and I opted for the 2TB size because $200 was reasonable, not ridiculous like $400 for a 1TB internal option. Now I won’t have to buy space again. Did I say the WD_Black D30 external box was cute? It is. I have black plates instead of white on my PS5, a black controller and now a black external game storage. So pretty. I know there were other brands and other choices, but Western Digital has been a good company for me over the years for computer storage and the price was good enough, and I REALLY needed the space. When and if internal storage is reasonably priced I might consider that but then again WD might have a 4TB+ option for around $200 in their Black model externally and I’d go for that instead. I did consider a WD 5TB storage option but it was a standard disc and would make some noise. The PS5 Digital is silent, seriously silent, so I wanted a SSD external option.
It was super easy to format and set up and it’s so nice to not have to fuss about not having enough space anymore.
    WD and done. Get playing.

Works great for my Xbox Series X. Fast transfer speeds. Nice small size.

Works great with PS5. No issues, and I love the little stand it comes with, makes it aesthetic.
